Barbershop meets speakeasy for this intimate and mysterious neighbourhood lounge.  We took inspiration from Brooklyn's barbershops and Manhattan's underground bars, creating a working barbershop as a front with a hidden side-door leading to a cozy and masculine bar. Though it opened in 2015, Cannibale feels as if it has always been a favourite local haunt.  Cannibale quickly became an essential part of its established neighbourhood, with a gritty, slightly spooky vibe that appeals to hipsters and long-time residents alike.

cannibale has a symbiotic relationship with the community, both serving to define the neighbourhood as well as being shaped by it.

To avoid falling victim to a passing fad, we dove deep into the idea of timelessness.  We pulled from a variety of eras to create a layered space that feels as if it has evolved over many years.
